Botany (Greek βοτάνη = grass) or plant science (Greek φυτόν = plant and λόγος = treaty) is a branch of biology and is the science that deals with the study of plants, including their description, classification, distribution, and relationships with other living beings. The object of study of botany is, then, a group of organisms distantly related to each other, cyanobacteria, fungi, algae and land plants, which have hardly any characters in common except for the presence of chloroplasts (except of fungi) or have no mobility.
In the field of botany must distinguish between pure botany, which aims to expand the knowledge of nature, and applied botany, whose research in the service of agricultural technology, forestry and pharmaceuticals. His knowledge affects many aspects of our lives and therefore is a discipline studied, in addition to biologists, pharmacists, engineers, agronomists, foresters, and others. [4]
Botany covers a wide range of content, including specific aspects of the plants themselves, of the biological sciences dealing with the chemical (phytochemical), cellular organization (plant cytology) and tissue (histology plant) Metabolism and organic operation (plant physiology), growth and development, the morphology (phytography) reproduction; legacy (plant genetics) of disease (plant pathology) adaptations to the environment (ecology) of geographical distribution (or phytogeography geobotánica) fossils (palaeontology) and evolution.
Some species are characteristic of our forests, fields and villages. Such as:
Juniper
PINE WALNUT
Pinaster
TEJO
JUNIPER
HOLLY
ALIAGA
THYME
OAK
LAVENDER
YOU ROCK
CAT'S TAIL
There are many more species, some well known and others less. But no less important.
